The Randwick Guineas Day took place on Saturday at the Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, and one of the many highlights was the Group 3 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m), which was the fifth race of the day.

There were no surprises in the 2010 Sweet Embrace Stakes when Crystal Lily crossed the line first. The filly won by a huge three lengths and is now looking to start in the illustrious Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) on the 3rd of April as a strong contender.

There were no surprises in the 2010 Sweet Embrace Stakes when Crystal Lily crossed the line first.

Crystal Lily has become second favourite to win the coveted $3.5 million Stakes at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse.

Ambers Waltz finished second with an impressive race by the John O’Shea-trained filly who beat Zutara to take the runner up position.

Gai Waterhouse is also looking to run her two-year-old filly in the Golden Slipper after her third spot finish in the 2010 Sweet Embrace Stakes.

Waterhouse’s other starter in the Group 3 race, My Amelia, finished in seventh spot.

Divorces, trained by Peter Snowden, finished fourth in what was a highly predictable finish by the top four fillies.

Also taking place on Saturday at the Royal Randwick Racecourse was the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m), the Group 2 Challenge Stakes (1000m), the Group 3 Randwick City Stakes (2000m) and the Group 3 Skyline Stakes (1200m).
